Chef and owner Seiji Kumagawa first opened Sushi Sasabune in 1997 with the goal of bringing an authentic 'Omakase' style sushi experience to Hawaii. Each course is prepared to be eaten "as is", already dressed and seasoned accordingly. Our 'Omakase' is designed to be flexible and unique to each customer, as there is no set price or fixed options to choose from. We specialize in nigiri made with warm sushi rice, which brings out the true flavors of the fish. Sushi Sasabune aims to showcase as much of Hawaii's local seafood as possible.
